1. System Overview

The Direct-Type Fire Detection Tube Fire Suppression System is a self-contained fire protection device that integrates early fire detection and automatic suppression into a single unit.
The system utilizes a high-sensitivity fire detection tube as both the detection and discharge element. When a localized fire occurs and generates elevated temperature, the detection tube automatically ruptures at the fire source, without the need for electrical power or a control panel, directly releasing the extinguishing agent to achieve rapid and precise local fire suppression.

With its simple structure and fast response, this system is especially suitable for confined spaces, concealed fire risks, unmanned facilities, or applications where conventional fire suppression systems are impractical. It is widely used internationally as a local application fire suppression solution for critical equipment protection.

The system employs FK-5-1-12 (Perfluorohexanone) as the extinguishing agent. FK-5-1-12 is a clear, colorless, odorless liquid at ambient temperature. Its latent heat of vaporization is approximately 1/25 that of water, while its vapor pressure is about 25 times higher than that of water. The agent rapidly vaporizes upon discharge, absorbing heat and suppressing fire primarily through physical cooling. After discharge, the agent is clean, nonconductive, non-corrosive, and leaves no residue, causing no damage to protected assets or sensitive equipment. It has zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP = 0) and an extremely low Global Warming Potential (GWP = 1), with an atmospheric lifetime of approximately 5 days, fully complying with environmental protection requirements. The required extinguishing concentration is well below the No Observed Adverse Effect Level (NOAEL), ensuring no secondary harm to personnel, making FK-5-1-12 a highly safe and environmentally sustainable clean agent.

3. How It Works

  1. Under normal conditions, the fire detection tube is either pressurized with gas or functions as the agent discharge conduit, while the extinguishing agent is stored in the agent cylinder.

  2. When a fire occurs in the protected enclosure, localized high temperature acts on the detection tube.

  3. The detection tube softens and ruptures at the point of highest temperature.

  4. The extinguishing agent is discharged directly through the rupture point onto the fire source, achieving rapid cooling, combustion inhibition, and/or oxygen displacement, thereby suppressing the fire.
